Situation Vacant: Level 3 Outdoor Activity Instructor Apprenticeship

 

We are currently looking to recruit a passionate and professional dynamic individual to join the team here at the Anderton Centre.

An outdoor apprentices at the Anderton Centre will give you experience in a variety of activities and technical skills. You can choose which route you want to go down depending on your interests, being based a multi activity centre like the Anderton Centre you will begin training in and teaching sailing, climbing, kayaking, canoeing, hill walking, mountain biking, and a variety of onsite activities.

Holiday club

You will receive a number of qualifications throughout your apprenticeship which form the pre-requisites of most coaching qualifications including personal performance awards, Foundation Safety & Rescue, First Aid, Safeguarding and RYA Power Boat Level 2 Licence.

There may be opportunities to take or work towards NGB qualifications such as RYA Dinghy Sailing Instructor, Climbing or Climbing Wall Instructor, British Canoeing Paddlesport leadership and Coaching Awards, Mountain Leader Training. These qualifications are recognised throughout the industry and will allow you to instruct individuals and lead groups in that particular activity. We support you to get experience and qualifications in as many disciplines as you can because being a genuine multi-activity instructor will mean you’re much more employable.

Our most recent apprentices has been offered a permanent contract at the Anderton Centre, and we will continue to support them with their professional development., and future career aspirations.

The Anderton Centre is Lancashire Outdoor Activities Initiative (LOAI) residential outdoor activity and conferencing facility and is part of the University of Bolton Group. The Centre is situated in the shores of the beautiful Rivington Reservoir in the heart of the West Pennie Moors.

The Centre is only a short drive from the motorway networks, so is able to serve many regions of the North West and the location boast superb water facilities and a rural setting ideal for a wide range of land activities.

 

We have teamed up with Channel Training to facilitate an industry led Level 3 Outdoor Activity Apprenticeship. We are looking for someone with a keen interest, and looking to start a career in Outdoor Education.

This is a 13 month contract £4.15 per hour 30 hour week. You will also benefit from Holidays, sick pay. The Apprenticeship also includes opportunities to gain national governing body award qualifications.

Start date: 24th March 2021

Interview Date: WC 15th March

An opportunity to gain permanent employment after your apprenticeship will be available for the right candidate

RYA level 2 sailing

 

Applicants must be aware of the Anderton Centre’s rural setting and take note.

The Anderton centre is, 0.8 Miles from the nearest Bus stop (regular 125 route).

The road and driveway are mostly unlit and without pavements.

If you are dependent on public transport, please take this into account when applying for this position.
