The Anderton Centre Achieves Level 2 Disability Confident Employer Status

At the Anderton Centre, inclusivity has always been at the heart of what we do. From offering transformative outdoor learning experiences to welcoming people from all walks of life, we are committed to creating an environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to thrive.

We are therefore delighted to announce that, following an in-depth evaluation of our practices and policies, the Anderton Centre has advanced from Level 1: Disability Confident Committed to Level 2: Disability Confident Employer. This achievement is a significant step forward in our journey to becoming a more inclusive and supportive organisation.

What Does This Status Mean?

The Disability Confident scheme is a Government-backed initiative that helps organisations recruit, retain, and support people with disabilities in the workplace.

By progressing to Level 2, the Anderton Centre has demonstrated that we go beyond simply being committed to the principles of inclusion. We actively ensure that our recruitment processes are fair, that we provide the right support for employees with disabilities, and that we take proactive steps to create an accessible workplace.

Why Is This Important to Us?

Our mission statement is clear: to empower individuals and foster inclusion through outdoor learning, education, and experiences that build confidence, resilience, and life skills. We believe that every individual—regardless of ability—deserves access to opportunities that allow them to grow, contribute, and succeed.

Becoming a Level 2 Disability Confident Employer aligns directly with these values. It’s about breaking down barriers, challenging stereotypes, and ensuring that people with disabilities feel not only welcome at the Anderton Centre but also valued for the unique perspectives and strengths they bring.

Our Commitment to Inclusivity

Achieving this new status is not the end of our journey; it’s just the beginning. We are committed to:

A Team Effort

This milestone would not have been possible without the incredible effort and dedication of our team. Their passion for making the Anderton Centre a place of opportunity for everyone is what drives us forward.

Looking Ahead

As we celebrate this achievement, we remain committed to continuing our work as part of the Disability Confident scheme. Our goal is to progress to Level 3: Disability Confident Leader, further solidifying our position as a champion for diversity and inclusion in the outdoor learning and activities sector.

We hope our journey inspires other organisations to take steps towards becoming more inclusive and accessible. Together, we can create a future where everyone has the opportunity to achieve their potential.

Thank you to all who support us on this journey. If you’d like to learn more about our approach to inclusivity or how we can support your organisation, please don’t hesitate to get in touch!
