Team building - raft challenge
Posted on 20th March 2019
What is Teamwork?

In dictionary terms, teamwork is “the combined action of a group, especially when effective and efficient”. Teamwork encompasses different environments, from schools, to the workplace and even the home. However, we understand there’s much more to it than that, don’t we?

As the saying goes, ‘you’re only as strong as your weakest link’. So, at the Anderton Centre, we ensure everyone in your group is performing to the highest possible standard. Our activities are designed to make sure no one gets left behind, and everyone comes up with a way to creatively think their way through any of the challenges we set.

Team Building Activities - Low Ropes

Can teamwork be taught?

In any workplace setting, individuals normally form part of a wider team across the company. In order to make the most out of a business, it is important that each team member performs well and in harmony with their peers. For some, this skill comes naturally. For others, it might take some time and nurturing. We regularly offer corporate team-building activities that are not only fun (and will be a hit with your staff), but also improve productivity in the office.

Healthy competition, creative thinking, and a day filled with exciting challenges can help improve teamwork. We offer a range of activities, from raft building to guided walks and orienteering as part of our corporate away day packages, all of which are tailored to suit your needs.

Why choose an away day with the Anderton Centre?

Our expert team of instructors can help your business thrive when you take part in our team-building exercises. Not only do these challenges allow your team to share perspectives and offer new ways of thinking, but they also encourage your staff to listen to each other and work together in order to achieve the desired outcome.

Corporate away days are proven to strengthen team morale, encourage better communication between colleagues and boost productivity in the workplace – not to mention regular exercise for staff can also reduce the number of sick days taken on average and improve their wellbeing.

In fact, the NHS encourages people to exercise for at least twenty minutes a day, and the more strenuous this activity, the better the impact on your physical and mental health. Therefore, encouraging your team to get out and take part in a team-building away day can create a happy, healthy workforce. You can read the full NHS report here.
