Our programmes are tailor made with your needs at the heart of our work. We can combine land and water activities, and our highly professional staff will ensure they chose the most relevant activities to suit your needs, abilities and objectives. If you don’t know what you want, let us guide you.
For longer stays, we utilise the beautiful surroundings of Lever Park and Rivington Pike where you can experience hill walking in ‘Lancashire’s mini lake district’
Our instructors are available to support your group on evening activities if you wish to extend your day. Bushcraft campfires or night walks are particularly popular for groups in the evening. What better way to finish your day than with a hot chocolate and marshmallows round the campfire while you recount tales of your favourite parts of the day.

= a perfect recipe for high school residentials in Lancashire‘s Lake District
Since 2009, we have offered high quality residential experiences on the shores of Rivington reservoir in central Lancashire. Our private peaceful woodland setting away from it all gives young people time and space to focus on revision, GCSE PE practical’s and personal development.
Time away is a great investment in student relationships with peers, teaching and learning staff. We know from customer feedback that the benefits of high school residentials are felt in the classroom long-term. If you think a visit to our charity-run outdoor learning centre could help your students or colleagues learn more, work better together or relax after a hard year of studying, then please get in touch to check availability and get a quote.
Our outdoor activities count as part of the practical sessions in GCSE PE include archery, orienteering, kayaking, canoeing and climbing. We have very experienced and qualified instructors who specialise in getting the best out of students to optimise the practical element of GCSE PE.
Inclusion is vital to the wellbeing and progression of students and we can offer an alternative to students who aren’t members of rugby, football, hockey and cricket clubs/teams. Combine two activities (eg, orienteering and climbing) and fit in some team-building activities like raft-building and problem solving.
Arriving Friday and departing on Saturday afternoon or Sunday after lunch, our four meeting rooms offer a quiet space to think, revise and concentrate for students who are borderline C/D and need a boost to get them that all-important C grade.
It means teachers and students giving up their weekends, evenings or free time, but throw in some engaging outdoor activities (raft-building, archery, problem-solving or low ropes challenge) with hearty home-cooked food and everyone has an enjoyable and memorable weekend away.
Our prices include all food (apart from lunch on day 1 – bring your own from school/home), bedding and equipment/kit hire for your stay. 1 free staff place per 10 student places.
Our 1 night 2 day residential packages start from just £75.00 per person off peak or £94.64 per person during peak season (01 March – 31 October).
No VAT is chargeable on school residential visits.
We have 20 ensuite bedrooms under a single roof that sleep a maximum of 70, across three accommodation areas.
We pride ourselves on our balanced and nutritious home-cooked food provided in our dining room.
A self contained, ground floor block with a fully equipped kitchen / dining area and separate lounge with a total occupancy of 18 people. This area is ideal for smaller groups who wish to cater for themselves.
Located on the first floor of the centre these blocks have 14 en-suite bedrooms sleeping up to 52 people plus a group lounge and kitchenette. The first floor blocks are more suited to larger groups choosing the catered option.
