Open-rafted canoes (1:10)

Open-rafted canoes are fun all year round with the right protective gear on.

By rafting together two Canadian canoes, our open-rafted canoeing is ideal for team-building and school multi-activity days as they hold groups of 4-6.  Even better, they can be run as a ‘stay dry session’ in colder months, so students can experience this amazing stretch of water in colder months as well as in spring/summer. All of our multi-activity School residentials include this session, as we can pack lunches in them and campfire and bush craft kit, so can be off canoeing all day and cook lunch around a campfire next to secret lagoons, or eat lunch ‘on the beach’ or ‘at the castle’.

Raft-Building (1:10)

Also known as Improvised Rafting, Raft-Building is great fun and encourages both team-building and leadership within your group. Using barrels and wooden poles you will make your own craft and attempt to take it across the water.  Great for team games, schools and corporate away days.
A typical 2.5 hour session means you have time for one water-based activity from this list.

However, if you can stay all day, why not combine it with two land-based activities in the morning?   Get in touch for sample programmes – we can have up to about 80 on the water at once, so for a multi-activity day you can bring a group of 160 per day.

Participants: Min 8 – Max 40
Time: 3 hours

Teams build their own raft from logs and barrels, then race around a pre-defined course on Lower Rivington Reservoir. Perfect for discovering and developing team roles, communication and leadership. If your team don’t communicate and work well together then it may be a wet day for some!!!!
