Girls from the Bolton Impact Trust Youth Challenge thrive at the Anderton Centre
The motto of the Bolton Impact Trust Youth Challenge is “Celebrating Achievement” and that is exactly what they do when they’re at the Anderton Centre.
The Trusts aim is to inspire every young person to acquire the knowledge, skills and experience necessary, both inside and outside the traditional classroom environment, to fulfil their true potential.
The Trust has been working with the Anderton Centre for many years, utilising its facilities to build self-esteem and confidence in young people.
The Centre provides an environment where the they feel safe, are nurtured and can build their confidence through the knowledge and skills they develop by undertaking a range of new activities.
This time through ‘The Annual Girls Projects’, the Trust had a range of girls visit the Centre who took part in raft building activities which was an excellent way to engage them with nature, learn new skills and have fun.
Melanie Williams from The Youth Challenge Trust commented, “The activities at the Anderton Centre are brilliant for building the girls’ interpersonal skills. It was great watching them listen to each others’ ideas on how best to build the raft. We absolutely love coming to the Centre, pupils and teachers included! We’ve considered other centres in the past but none of them live up to the Anderton Centre – their staff, facilities, activities and on-site catering is just fantastic.”
The Anderton Centre has been delivering services to numerous support organisations such as The Bolton Impact Trust, schools, the general public as well as businesses for many years.
David Germain, Head of Centre at the Anderton Centre said, “The team is made up of highly skilled and experienced instructors with fantastic interpersonal skills who are able to deal with people at all levels. Their aim is to provide an environment where people can challenge themselves whilst having a good time, and the team have struck an excellent balance to achieve this.”
Melanie from the Trust concluded, “It’s so important to introduce our young people to different environments where they feel relaxed and safe. We genuinely can’t thank the team at the Anderton Centre enough for creating such amazing memories for our girls in particular, where they have been comfortable enough to laugh and have fun.”
