Meadow View Learning Centre provides ‘Integrated Therapeutic Provision’ to 8-18 year olds, helping young people feel safe and happy within their learning environment. The residential centre, with an onsite school strives to create a timetable and curriculum which meets the individual needs of each pupil and breaks down barriers to learning.

The team at Meadow View are dedicated to the development of the ‘whole child’ focusing on areas such as independence, self-esteem, resilience, making safe choices and communication.

Meadow View have attended the Anderton Centre many times over the past few years with each visit bringing positive results through participation in a range of land and water based activities. The Anderton Centre welcomed back a group of 14-15 years olds in September.

Darius Robinson, Head Teacher at Meadow View Learning Centre, commented, “The group took part in archery which was a new experience for many of our youngsters and they thoroughly enjoyed it. The instructors were extremely helpful and fun, engaging with the children very quickly. The team at the Centre certainly have a great understanding of working with kids of all ages and they quickly and effectively get them involved in a range of activities we have taken part in over the years.”

Archery is incredibly good fun. It helps improve focus, hand-eye co-ordination and upper body strength, and is also great for building social skills and confidence.

Darius continued, “The Centre helps the children to achieve their full potential as they grow and develop a sense of identity, as well as a mind-set that is positively focused on success. We’ll certainly be coming back and encourage others to take advantage of the fantastic facilities available at the Anderton Centre. The activities aren’t just open to schools and other educational institutions but also to members of the public who can take part insessions such as the popular Pay and Play the Centre run.”
